Look, here’s my story...
I’ve been grinding in this industry for over
20 years now, mostly based out of the States, and man, I’ve seen it all. I didn’t just start typing yesterday. I’ve got a bunch of my own movies out there, but just as often, I’m the guy who gets the "emergency call." You know the drill: a production hits a wall, the story falls apart, and they need someone to jump in, tighten up the script, punch up the dialogue, or actually give the characters some soul.
What’s my life like? Imagine a never-ending race between deadlines and coffee shops. In L.A., everyone’s trying to be "somebody," but the real work happens in the quiet of a room, staring at a monitor. I’ve had my moments on the red carpet, but I’ve also had those 3 a.m. sessions where I’m scrapping an entire scene because I finally realized it just wasn't working.
I’m not just a writer; I’m kind of a "fixer" on set. Whether it’s giving the director a fresh perspective or arguing with producers about the vision, the goal is always the same:
tell a damn good story. After all these years, the biggest rush is still seeing something I sketched out on a notepad come to life on the big screen, watching people laugh or cry at it.
That’s my world. It’s not always easy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
