I’m really glad to hear you already have a full concept album for Bloom, and I would love to hear that As for previous work, I do have a few credits and examples you can explore on my website: Credits Link Some showreels My IMDB Link I’ve composed music for a number of projects, Last Chance...

If a project gets delayed for months, I’d definitely say it’s fair for both sides to check in and revisit the original commitment. Life changes, priorities change, and creative energy changes too. I’d rather have an honest conversation with the person who hired me.

Personally, I’m not rigid about having a fixed rate or charging a specific amount per minute. For me, it ultimately depends on the overall budget and circumstances of the film. At the end of the day, I believe every member of a film team should be committed to the success of the project...

I think the director’s vision should always be the starting point. As a composer, I value that perspective, especially when they already have a strong emotional connection to the temp track. For me, the temp track is more of a reference than something I need to replace immediately. I usually...

The story obiviously. And lot of talk with director

I’m Subin Karkani, a self-taught composer specializing in film scoring, television, games, animation, and music for visual media. I’m looking to connect with filmmakers, directors, producers, animators, game developers, and other creative professionals who are interested in collaborating on...

Yeah, most of the time. I carry my phone everywhere..even to the toilet 😅. Whenever a melody comes to my head, I just hum it into the voice recorder. Sometimes it’s just a small idea or a motif, and then I try to expand it and improvise around it. But that’s not the only way I compose. Sometimes...

Actually, I have my own little trick. I don't know what established composers do, but when I have complete creative freedom, I imagine myself as a bystander an uninvolved character in the story or scene. I just watch what's happening and listen. Then I listen for the sounds and tunes I hear in...

Well, the director gave me complete creative freedom. It really depends on the director we’re working with. Sometimes, we have to work within certain constraints like no flute sounds, no mallets, no strings, etc. So, as a composer, you have to adapt your approach to fit the director’s vision...

Thanks! The director was kind enough to explain the story to me in English and also sent me a translated version of the script. He walked me through each scene that required music and explained the emotions that needed to be reflected. The score was a mix of orchestral and hybrid music. Since...

Hi, I’m an indie music composer currently working on the soundtrack for an independent animated film from Portugal. Interestingly, I don’t speak Portuguese or understand the language. The work includes the complete soundtrack as well as the end-credit song. More information about the project...

I would suggest approaching an indie composer or an early career composer. There are thousands of incredibly talented composers out there who are not in the limelight simply because they haven’t been given enough opportunities to establish themselves. To be honest, one of the biggest challenges...

In my opinion, one be a little cautious about relying too heavily on music library websites (No argument about the quality of the music as it is written by a talented musician) just because the tracks are advertised as “free.” The real issue is not finding a track. it is finding one that...

Thank you for your kind words.. The first thing I do is talk to the director, second, I read the script or aask explain the director about the story, where it happening, whether the story has a pleasent end, or its bad, or it ends with a question.. Talking to the director is the important part...
