I’d like to introduce AGAPIAN — Before You Arrived, a romantic sci-fi project I’m developing as both a novel and a vertical episodic series.

The story follows Sofia, whose life changes when a mysterious man appears claiming to be her husband from the future — and warning her not to marry the man she loves. What begins as a time-travel mystery gradually reveals a secret government project, questions about identity and memory, and a much larger truth.

The vertical series launched on September 15, 2026 and quickly gained early audience traction across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, reaching 300K+ combined views by October 3.

I’m currently producing the series independently and I’m looking for a development and production partner who can help me strengthen the project creatively and, especially, build a production structure that allows AGAPIAN to scale.

My goal is to expand the project beyond its current independent production model and explore its potential for a broader audiovisual format and international audiences.

I’d love to connect with producers, filmmakers and development professionals who see potential in the concept.

300K+ views in just a few weeks is a strong early signal. Are you mainly looking for a producer to scale the vertical series, or is the longer-term goal to develop AGAPIAN into a traditional series or feature as well?

Interesting concept, especially for the vertical format. I’d be curious to know which platform has generated the strongest audience response so far.

Thank you for asking. To be completely honest, I didn’t expect AGAPIAN to reach this kind of audience so quickly.

It started as a story I wrote very naturally, without thinking much about where it could go. Only recently, after a major change in my professional life and with all the new possibilities technology offers, I decided to actually bring the story to life.
When I started publishing it, I genuinely thought one episode per week would be enough. My idea was that each episode would have a full week to find its audience and grow organically. I am still very new to this world, so I’m learning as I go and I’m very open to suggestions, guidance and different perspectives on how the project could evolve.
But if I think about what I would truly love for AGAPIAN in the long term, my dream is to tell the story in a more complete form — whether as a traditional series or a feature film.
The vertical format has been an incredible way to introduce the story and test the audience’s response, but it naturally requires a much more direct narrative. A lot of the inner world, emotional development and mythology has to be condensed.
And those are exactly the parts I’m most passionate about. I love Sofia’s thoughts and emotional journey, the universe behind AGAPIAN, and the questions the story allows us to explore — technology, conspiracy theories, love, faith, human relationships, and even the possibility that reality may be much bigger than what we understand.
So I would say that, at this stage, the vertical series is helping me build the audience and discover the project, but my heart is very much in developing AGAPIAN into a larger, more complete story. I’m still figuring out the best path for that, and I would genuinely welcome guidance from people with more experience in development and production.

Thank you! So far, Facebook has generated the strongest overall audience response in terms of reach and views, while Instagram has shown a very interesting engagement pattern as well.
TikTok also gave us some strong early signals — one of the episodes reached around 19K views very quickly — but Facebook has been the biggest surprise, especially considering that the page is still very new.
What has been most interesting to me is seeing how differently the same story performs on each platform. I’m still learning from the audience behavior and testing what works best for AGAPIAN in each one.

Do you already have a clear idea of how you want to approach potential partners? Would you look to sit down with a producer first, or are you also considering investors at this stage? Have you done any market assessment for the project, or spoken with distributors or sales agents about where they see potential for it?

Hi Lucas,

Thank you — those are exactly the questions I’m starting to think about more seriously now.
At this stage, I believe my first step would be to connect with a producer or development partner who can help me understand the best path for the project creatively and strategically. Since I’m still new to this side of the industry, I don’t want to rush into looking for investors before I have a clearer development plan, budget structure and understanding of what format makes the most sense for AGAPIAN.
I haven’t done a formal market assessment yet, and I haven’t spoken directly with distributors or sales agents. So far, my focus has been on developing the story, producing the vertical series independently and observing the audience response across platforms.
The early traction has made me realize that I now need to start thinking beyond production and more seriously about positioning, development and market potential.
I would be very interested in hearing how you would approach this stage. In your experience, would it make more sense to first strengthen the project with a producer/development partner before approaching investors or distributors?
