Today, April 4, 2026, the prestigious PaleyFest LA officially opened its doors, bringing together the biggest names in television and streaming in the heart of Los Angeles. The festival launched with an exclusive look at Apple TV+’s latest hit, Pluribus, featuring a star-studded panel with icons like Rhea Seehorn and Harrison Ford. The event aims to provide an "inside-out" look at the creative process, offering fans a rare opportunity to engage directly with the creators and casts of their favorite shows. As a key industry barometer, PaleyFest continues to showcase the storytelling trends and production styles that will define the small screen for years to come.

In the current sea of streaming content, which series do you consider the pinnacle of "prestige TV" this year? Which creator’s panel discussion would you be most excited to attend?

PaleyFest always feels like a snapshot of where the industry thinks it’s going, not just where it is right now.
If we’re talking about “prestige TV” this year, I don’t think it’s defined purely by scale or budget anymore, but by consistency of vision across episodes and seasons. The shows that stand out are the ones that feel intentionally crafted, not just extended because they perform well on a platform.
What’s interesting right now is that prestige is slowly shifting from “big, cinematic storytelling” to more controlled, character-driven narratives. In a more cost-conscious environment, writing and structure are starting to matter more again, which is probably a healthy correction.
That’s also why panels like the one for Pluribus are so relevant. Not just because of the cast, but because these kinds of projects usually reflect how platforms are trying to balance ambition with sustainability.
Personally, I’d be most interested in creator-led panels where the conversation goes beyond production and into decision-making. How projects get greenlit now, how success is actually measured internally, and how much creative risk is still tolerated in a more consolidated landscape.
Because that’s where the real story is right now, not just what gets made, but why it gets made.
