Currently looking to connect with authors and writers who need professional screenwriting support.
Whether you need a script written from scratch or have an existing screenplay that needs professional script reading, editing, polishing, and development toward production level, I’d be happy to help.
Send me a DM to discuss your project.

Nice to see you putting this out there, Hannah. Script editing can mean quite different things depending on where a project is in development.

Do you mainly work with writers who already have a completed draft, or do you also get involved earlier when the story and characters are still being developed?

Good luck finding some interesting projects here!

Thank you! I work with both. I can come in at the development stage to help shape the story, characters, structure, and overall direction, or work with a completed draft to strengthen the script, improve pacing, dialogue, and bring it closer to production level.

I’m always open to interesting projects at any stage of development.

Hannah, I’m curious about something from an editor’s perspective. What do you do when you feel that a writer’s favorite scene or character is actually weakening the screenplay?

Do you tell them directly that you think it should be changed or even removed, or do you prefer to guide the writer toward recognizing the issue themselves?

I think this is one of the more interesting aspects of the relationship between a writer and a script editor, and I’d also be curious to hear how others handle situations like this.

I think honesty is important, but so is the way you communicate it. I’d tell the writer directly if I believe a scene or character is weakening the screenplay, but I’d explain why and support it with the story’s overall goals. Rather than simply saying “cut this,” I prefer to ask questions that help the writer see the issue from the audience’s perspective. If there’s a way to preserve what they love about the scene or character while strengthening the script, I’ll always explore that first.

At the end of the day, it’s their story, I’m there to help them make the strongest version of it, not take ownership of their creative choices.
