Hi everyone! Greetings from Sydney, Australia!

I'm Eduardo Bateman, a Colombian-Australian independent filmmaker, screenwriter, and founder of Senexmedia Australia.

I'm passionate about unconventional storytelling, particularly crime thrillers, dark comedies, science fiction, and stories filled with unexpected twists.

I'm currently building a catalogue of original film concepts with the long-term goal of developing them into live-action feature films.

My approach is a little different.

I usually start with an original story treatment, develop the narrative, and break it down into scenes. From there, I use AI-assisted filmmaking to bring these ideas to life as cinematic short films.

For me, AI isn't about replacing traditional filmmaking. It's a creative tool that allows independent storytellers to visualise their ideas, experiment with cinematography, and create proofs of concept for potentially larger productions.

Here's some of my work!

🎬 Till Dawn – A crime thriller about a group of robbers seeking refuge after a heist, only to discover that their hiding place holds an unexpected surprise.

🎬 No Way, Mate! – An upcoming sci-fi dark comedy inspired by John Carpenter's They Live, exploring paranoia, hidden realities, and dark humour.

Currently in post-production, with a release planned for early November!

What brings me here?

I'm looking to connect with fellow filmmakers, screenwriters, producers, and creative professionals who share a passion for original storytelling.

My ultimate goal is to attract interest in my stories, explore potential collaborations, and hopefully see some of these concepts developed into professionally produced feature films.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on Till Dawn, learn about your projects, and exchange ideas!

Looking forward to being part of this community!

Cheers from Australia!

Welcome. Eduardo!

It sounds like you have some exciting projects underway. I particularly like your approach of using AI-assisted filmmaking to create proof-of-concept pieces, As independent creators, being able to visualise a project before seeking wider industry interest can be incredibly valuable.

That's actually the stage I'm currently working towards with my animated musical feature Bloom, The screenplay, soundtrack, concept artwork and supporting materials are already in place, and my next major step is producing a proof-of-concept animation to help demonstrate the project's potential.

I'd certainly be interested in learning more about your process and the tools you've used to bring your concepts to life. There may even be opportunities for collaboration or knowledge-sharing if you feel our projects align.

One thing I should mention is that I'm currently developing Bloom on an equity-only basis due to personal circumstances, so my focus at present is learning, networking and collaborating rather than engaging paid services.

Feel free to reach out anytime. I'd be interested to hear more about Till Dawn, No Way, Mate!, and your experience bringing concepts to screen through AI-assisted production,

Kind regards,

Mark

Hi Eduardo, welcome to FilmPlatforms!

The Till Dawn video looks great, really well put together, and I definitely see potential in it!

I'm curious, are you planning to focus mainly on action films and thrillers, or was this project more about demonstrating what AI filmmaking can achieve?

One thing worth keeping in mind as these projects develop is the legal side of AI-generated content. Copyright, ownership rights, and even the resemblance of AI-generated characters to real actors could become important issues, especially when moving towards commercial production.

Wishing you success with your projects, and looking forward to seeing what you create next!
