Heading to Austin.

Two of my scripts, THE BUSHMEN (TV pilot) and LINE OF DEPARTURE (feature), made the Second Round of the 2026 Austin Film Festival Script Competition, and I'll be at the festival October 29 – November 5.

To get ready, I rebuilt calderwarstories.com into a full portfolio. Every title now has its own page with the logline, laurels and available materials.

And NINE LIVES, my short about a withdrawn veteran tearing through a locked-down high-rise to save his cat, is now a playable retro game demo right on its page. Nine floors. Nine near-deaths. Nobody killed.

Take a look, play a floor or two, and if you'll be in Austin, message me. I'd like to meet you.

Hi Jason,

Congratulations on your success in the Austin Film Festival Script Competition!

It's interesting to see how NINE LIVES has evolved from a short film concept into an interactive game. That's a creative way to introduce a story and potentially build an audience before the film is even produced.

Do you have a short teaser or gameplay video on YouTube that you could share here? It would be great for the community to get a closer look at the project.

We'll be attending the American Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles next month, so it's always interesting to see how independent filmmakers are developing and presenting their projects.

By the way, we also have a dedicated Member Awards & Festival Selections section where you can share achievements like your Austin Film Festival placements:

https://filmplatforms.com/forums/member-awards-festival-selections/

Best of luck in Austin, and I hope we'll hear more about your projects!
