Hello Cinema Doktor (Or ANYONE online right now).

I have 2 huge questions to ask - I am finally ready to pitch Bloom and have a zoom call with Nikolas Tana at 7pm (UK). It is only 3pm and I cannot help but pace, shake with nerves, question my sanity and watch the time pass by like a tired snail.

1. What advice would you give to someone before a big moment like this?
2. What techniques could you suggest to calm the nerves before the storm?

This is my first ever pitch session and I have 8 minutes to potentially change my life - with a project that means so much to me.

Your insight/advice would be so invaluable right now.

Thank you in advance.

Mark, I hope the pitch went well! A first meeting isn't necessarily about securing a deal, but about generating interest and opening the door to further discussions. How did your meeting with Nikolas Tana go? Did you get any feedback?

Thank you. To be fair, it went absolutely amazing!

He also has a daughter who shares the same additional needs as my own - which the main character is based and shows - which he said resonated with him personally.

He was blown away by the readiness of Bloom and how much I already had.

It was an 8 minute pitch and I never got to ask any questions at the end. Not because I overran the pitch, but because he couldn't stop asking to know more. He even said at the end that he had a thousand questions he wanted to ask but he had another pitch and needed to end the call.

We overran by 2 and a half minutes because he just kept asking haha! He also told me he could hear my passion for Bloom in the way I was talking about it.

For feedback, he said "there is only one piece of advice I can actually give" - to get to the lore of the forest a little sooner in the pitch.

Now I just have to play the waiting game.

He has up to 21 days to submit the scorecard. So now I wait.

I have never been so happy. Such an amazing result for my first ever pitch!

Also, thank you very much for your 60-day plan and honest feedback. I am now working through this accordingly.
