One thing every writer should understand is that asking someone to read your manuscript is not just about receiving praise for the time and effort you've put into it.
I understand how much love, time, and hard work goes into writing a story. Naturally, you want people to appreciate it. But honest feedback is not always going to be praise, and that doesn't mean your story is bad.
Sometimes, a manuscript has a strong idea but needs better character development, clearer dialogue, stronger plot structure, improved pacing, or a more natural flow.
As a Script reader and script developer, my role is not just to tell you that your work is good. I look closely at what is working, what isn't working, and what could make the story stronger.
I provide honest, constructive feedback, identify areas that need improvement, and help writers understand how they can make meaningful changes without losing their original vision.
Writers, let me ask you something: Would you rather receive praise that makes you feel good for a moment, or honest feedback that helps you become a better storyteller?
Sometimes, the feedback you don't expect is the feedback your manuscript needs most.
