We're here to share knowledge, discuss ideas, discover projects, and build meaningful professional connections. You don't need years of experience or an impressive resume to take part. Curiosity, respect, and a genuine interest in film are enough to get started.

To keep FilmPlatforms a place worth visiting and contributing to, we ask everyone to follow a few straightforward guidelines.

1. Be Respectful

Treat other members with respect. Different opinions and honest disagreements are welcome. Personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, threats, and abusive behavior are not.

Challenge an idea if you disagree with it, but don't attack the person sharing it.

2. Keep Discussions Constructive

Good discussions don't always require expert answers. A useful question, an honest experience, or a practical suggestion can help someone move forward.

When giving feedback, try to explain what works, what could improve, or what someone might consider next.

Brief comments are welcome when they genuinely contribute to the conversation. Repetitive, inflammatory, misleading, or low-effort posts may be removed.

3. Stay On Topic

Post in the appropriate forum and keep discussions relevant. Off-topic or repetitive threads may be moved, merged, or closed to keep the community organized.

If you've already introduced a film or project, please share updates in the existing thread whenever possible. A new development doesn't always need a new topic.

This helps other members follow your progress and keeps valuable feedback in one place.

4. No Spam, Advertising or Excessive Self-Promotion

FilmPlatforms welcomes genuine professional visibility, but it is not a place for unsolicited advertising.

Members are encouraged to share their films, screenplays, projects, companies, professional services, and collaboration opportunities in the appropriate forum sections.

Please provide useful context. For example, when introducing a project, explain what it is, where it stands, and what kind of feedback, collaboration, financing, or distribution opportunities you're looking for.

Relevant external links, portfolios, and industry resources are welcome when they genuinely help a discussion.

However, unsolicited advertising, repetitive promotional messages, disguised advertising, affiliate spam, and posts primarily intended to drive traffic to external websites or improve search engine rankings are not permitted.

Unwanted promotional private messages, mass messaging, and repeated unsolicited offers of paid services are also prohibited.

Members may recommend relevant services or companies when helpful, but commercial relationships or personal interests should be disclosed where relevant.

Moderators may edit or remove promotional content while preserving useful professional contributions whenever possible. These rules apply equally to everyone.

5. Usernames and Account Identity

You're welcome to use your real name, a professional name, a company name, or a nickname. Using your real name publicly is not required.

However, usernames must not be used as advertising space. Website domain names, URLs, advertising slogans, and usernames primarily designed to promote external websites, brands, or commercial services are not permitted.

For example, a professional name or ordinary nickname is fine, but a username formatted as a website address, such as example.com, is not.

You may include your website, portfolio, and relevant company information in the appropriate profile fields, subject to our community rules.

Impersonating another person or organization, or creating a misleading professional identity, is prohibited.

FilmPlatforms may request a username change or take appropriate moderation action when these rules are violated.

6. AI Tools and Authentic Participation

AI tools are part of today's creative and professional world, and their responsible use is welcome on FilmPlatforms.

Using AI to improve your English, translate a message, organize your thoughts, research a topic, or assist with your creative work is absolutely fine.

What matters is that your contributions reflect genuine ideas, real experiences, honest questions, or useful professional knowledge.

Mass-produced AI comments, automated engagement, fabricated professional backgrounds, invented personal experiences, and generic AI-generated posts that add no meaningful value to discussions are not permitted.

A member introduction should describe a real person, their actual interests, background, or professional goals, even when AI has helped with the wording.

Members remain responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of what they publish, regardless of which tools they use.

We do not prohibit AI-assisted writing simply because AI was involved. Moderation focuses on misleading behavior, artificial engagement, and the quality of contributions.

7. Professional Conduct and Honest Representation

FilmPlatforms is built on professional trust. Members should be honest about their experience, credentials, affiliations, and the projects they represent.

Do not falsely claim professional qualifications, industry relationships, financing commitments, distribution agreements, or ownership of creative work.

Misleading investment opportunities, fraudulent financing offers, false commercial promises, and attempts to exploit other members are prohibited.

If you're seeking investment, distribution, collaborators, or professional services, describe your opportunity as accurately and transparently as possible.

Professional Verification is granted only after a review of relevant professional experience or supporting information. Members must not falsely claim verified status or imply official endorsement by FilmPlatforms.

8. Respect Creative Rights and Confidential Information

Only share materials you own or have permission to publish. This includes scripts, images, film footage, trailers, pitch decks, and other creative or business materials.

Respect the intellectual property and confidential information of other filmmakers and companies.

Do not publish private contracts, confidential financing details, unpublished scripts, or other restricted information without appropriate authorization.

Members retain ownership of their original creative work. The use of content by FilmPlatforms is governed by our applicable Terms and Rules and any additional permissions required for specific uses.

9. Moderation and Account Enforcement

Our moderation team works to keep FilmPlatforms useful, safe, and welcoming for genuine members.

Depending on the situation, moderators may edit or remove content, move or close discussions, request username changes, issue warnings, or restrict access to certain features.

Accounts involved in spam, misleading promotions, fraudulent activity, harassment, impersonation, or other serious violations may be suspended or permanently banned.

Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate action without a prior warning where appropriate.

FilmPlatforms may also take proportionate action against accounts created primarily for advertising, manipulation, or abuse of community features.

Moderation decisions are made in accordance with our published rules and applicable laws, including relevant notice and appeal requirements.
