The Difference Between Plot and Story ​

Plot is what happens. Story is why it matters.


A plot can tell us that a man loses his job. A story explores what that loss does to his identity, family, choices, and future.


Great storytelling isn't just about what happens—it’s about what it means.

Should Every Film Have a Message? ​

Does every film need to say something meaningful, or is entertainment enough? Some films challenge us and change how we see the world. Others simply give us an escape—and that's perfectly valid too. As filmmakers, should we always feel responsible for leaving a message, or should we sometimes just tell a great story?
