I'm Andrew Conklin, the founder of Soleil Clusters. We primarily work as a film production company, Soleil Pictures, but we ran into issues with keeping up with all of our individual projects and assets. So we built Soleil Clusters to solve that issue.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's used Soleil Clusters. What does it do particularly well compared to platforms like Notion, Trello, or Airtable?

Hey hey, having used it (and created it), my biggest goal with this tool was to have it be built for creatives (film in particular), so you will notice if you go on the platform and create a doc, there's an option to flip that document into screenplay mode. Then, right within the app, you can write an industry-standard screenplay. There are a bunch of things like that.

It is still quite new, so not all of our huge defining features are out yet, but it's an incredibly visual way to organize a visual medium.

Soon we will also be adding things like a call sheet creator, grids so you can make shot lists super easy, and a bunch more.

So all in all, it's not THAT different compared to other platforms, and you could likely figure out how to do these things on those platforms; however, this being built specifically for creatives, it will be a whole lot easier to do through here.

Think of it like a home base for creative projects. You can drag and drop any and all files into it to organize how you want, which can be right next to your beautiful moodboards, which can be right next to your script. Here's an example for a project we are working on now, we can sort and see our storyboards right next to our scripts right next to our characters, etc...

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I really like the idea of building the platform specifically for filmmakers rather than adapting a general project management tool to fit film workflows.

This looks like a very promising project.

I'm particularly curious about your long-term vision. Do you see Soleil Clusters eventually becoming a complete end-to-end platform where filmmakers can manage the entire production process from the initial idea and screenplay through storyboards, shot lists, production documents, and all the way to post-production without needing to rely on multiple different tools?

Also, with AI evolving so rapidly, are you planning to introduce features such as automatic script breakdowns, shot list suggestions, scheduling assistance, or even AI-assisted storyboard generation? I think those are the kinds of features that could really set Soleil Clusters apart from other platforms.

I think keeping the entire creative workflow in one place could be a real advantage, especially for independent productions. Reducing the need to switch between multiple tools can make collaboration much more efficient. I'm looking forward to seeing how the platform evolves as more production features are added. One thing that often slows productions down isn't a lack of creativity it's losing context. Weeks later, someone asks why a scene changed, why a location was replaced, or why a shot was removed, and nobody remembers. If a platform can preserve not just the files, but the thinking behind those creative decisions, I think that could become one of its biggest strengths. Is that something you're planning to support over time?
