One thing I like about StudioBinder is that it doesn't assume you already know filmmaking terminology.
A lot of free resources jump straight into technical language, but StudioBinder usually explains why something works before showing how to do it.

I found the articles about shot lists and blocking particularly useful because they're practical enough to apply on a real project, not just in theory.

I probably wouldn't rely on StudioBinder as my only source of education, but I think it's one of the best places to build a solid foundation.

If someone is completely new to filmmaking, understanding concepts like coverage, blocking, shot composition, or production planning before buying expensive courses can save a lot of time and money.

It's also one of the few free resources I still recommend to beginners.

I came across StudioBinder while looking for better resources on shot planning, and I ended up spending much more time there than I expected.

The articles and lessons are practical rather than overly technical, which makes them easy to apply on real projects. I especially liked the content on shot lists and visual storytelling because it focuses on solving everyday production problems instead of just explaining theory. It's not a replacement for hands-on experience, but for a free resource, I think it's one of the better places to start building a solid filmmaking foundation.
