What Are You Working On? Share Your Project with the FilmPlatforms Community

That’s a really interesting way of finding music. Do you ever record those melodies quickly on your phone when they come to you? I imagine it must be frustrating when you hear something clearly in your head and then lose parts of it before you get back to your instruments.
Yeah, most of the time. I carry my phone everywhere..even to the toilet 😅. Whenever a melody comes to my head, I just hum it into the voice recorder. Sometimes it’s just a small idea or a motif, and then I try to expand it and improvise around it.
But that’s not the only way I compose. Sometimes I just sit in front of a blank DAW project, staring at it without playing a single note for a long time, trying to capture an idea..maybe an intro, an outro, a verse, or whatever comes to mind.
I don’t really compose in a linear way, like intro first, then verse, then chorus. I usually write whatever part comes to me first and then build the rest of the piece around it.

Thanks for creating a space like this. I’m a screenwriter and script developer focused on helping filmmakers and writers strengthen their projects from concept through screenplay development.

My work includes story structure, character development, dialogue, pacing, conflict, stakes, and overall script clarity, with a strong focus on preserving the writer’s original vision while making the story more compelling and production-ready.

I’m currently interested in connecting with writers, directors, producers, and filmmakers developing feature films, series, and other screen projects. I’m especially interested in projects with strong characters, meaningful conflict, and potential for wider audiences.

Looking forward to discovering what everyone is working on and hopefully finding opportunities for creative collaboration.

Hello! My name is Rogério Perdiz, and I'm an independent action animation filmmaker.
I grew up watching Action Hero movies, and I've always loved 3D CGI animation and video games. My goal is to tell good, memorable action stories through animation.

I'm not particularly good at making money... we could definitely use an executive producer! 😁 For that reason, our projects tend to take a long time to complete .... many years.

The main project I'm producing and directing at the moment is Clash On Little Pond, the one Subin mentioned above. He was also the one who introduced me to this community, so thank you!
COLP is currently about 72% complete. I'm working on the animatic and planning the shots at this exact moment, but pretty much everything else is already complete, apart from the final character rigging and animation. The final song is currently in the extremely competent hands of Subin.

We also have two more projects in development: Resilience Satelle and The Gate Sheriff (still very early in development), each at a different stage. Our first delivery will be Clash On Little Pond.

I'll be keeping an eye on this community from now on. Thanks for giving me the chance to share our adventures!

I’m particularly interested in action films myself, so your approach caught my attention. When you design an action sequence in animation, what comes first for you the story and character objective, or the visual idea for the action itself? I think that balance can make a huge difference between an action scene that looks impressive and one that actually moves the story forward.

What’s one lesson you learned the hard way on a film project?

Sometimes the difficult experiences are the ones others can learn from most.

Maybe something didn’t go according to plan, a decision turned out differently than expected, or you simply discovered a better way of doing things through experience.

Share one lesson you learned the hard way — big or small. Your experience might help another filmmaker avoid the same mistake.

We’d especially love to hear from some of our newer FilmPlatforms members:

@mahdizmi97 @Effdej @Isla Taylor @DocNoah7
@Slatify2026 @AbhijeetAade @mrjrwhite @jopehor338
@emma @robertwilson123 @AlecKantrellHarris @MIRMAL JOSHUA

Of course, everyone in the community is welcome to jump in and share their experience.

One lesson I learned is that a strong idea isn’t always enough. I’ve learned the hard way that taking time to develop the story properly before rushing into production can save a lot of problems later. Sometimes slowing down early actually helps you move faster in the end.

That’s a great point, Grace. I think this applies beyond production as well. If a project is taken to producers, distributors or other potential partners too early, it can lose the power of that first impression.

Sometimes slowing down a little at the beginning really does help you move faster later.

Hi everyone, I’m Ambrose. I’m currently focused on connecting with filmmakers, writers, producers, and industry professionals around the world and discovering interesting projects in development.

I’m especially interested in romance, thriller, comedy, and other strong genre projects, whether they’re at the treatment, screenplay, or packaging stage. I’m looking forward to connecting with members here, learning about what everyone is working on, and exploring potential opportunities to collaborate.

Hi Ambrose, I noticed you’re looking at projects from the treatment and screenplay stage through packaging. One challenge with finding promising projects that early is that a strong concept doesn’t always mean the material is ready to move forward. Sometimes the potential is there, but the structure, characters, dialogue, or overall presentation still needs to be developed before the project can be positioned properly.
That’s an area I’m particularly interested in: identifying what is working, finding what is holding a project back, and refining the material so its strongest potential becomes clear before it reaches the next stage.

When you discover a project with a strong premise but unfinished development, how are you currently handling that stage?

🎬 What Are You Working On? Share Your Project with the FilmPlatforms Community

A big thank you to everyone who has joined FilmPlatforms and put their trust in this growing community.

FilmPlatforms was created to be more than just another place to post. The goal is to build a community where filmmakers and industry professionals can share what they’re working on, exchange real experiences, make meaningful connections, and help each other move projects forward.

We also want to help your work get seen. Whenever possible, interesting projects and posts shared by our members may be featured across FilmPlatforms’ LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and Instagram channels, as well as within our wider film industry network at no cost to our members.

I created this community because I believe the right connection, piece of advice, or extra visibility can sometimes make a real difference to a project. Wherever I can, I’d like FilmPlatforms to help create those opportunities.

So let’s start with one simple question:

What are you working on right now?

Tell us a little about your current film, screenplay, documentary, series, or any other project you’re developing.

You can share it here in the comments, or start a separate thread in the appropriate FilmPlatforms forum. If you create your own thread, feel free to share it here too so other members can discover your project and join the conversation.

Thanks for this opportunity, Zoltan. I'd like to collaborate on finding a buyer for the rights to my works and attracting investors for my narratives—which are inspired by real-life events. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi RGh,

Thank you for sharing your plans with us!

Stories inspired by real-life events can be particularly compelling, and I'd be interested to learn more about your work.

I'd encourage you to introduce your projects in our General Film Discussion section, whether they're completed works or still in development.

A short description of each project, perhaps accompanied by a poster or other visual material, would be a great starting point.

It would also be helpful to explain what you're specifically looking for whether that's buyers for your rights, potential investors, production partners, or other forms of collaboration.

Once you've introduced your projects and we have a clearer understanding of your work, we can explore possible next steps and see where opportunities for collaboration might exist.

I'm looking forward to discovering your projects, and I hope you'll become an active part of our growing FilmPlatforms community!

Thanks again for your prompt response.

I'd like to reiterate my keen interest in finding buyers for the rights to these works; at the same time, am seeking investors who wish to participate as production partners by providing the necessary funding. I'm very eager to establish serious and significant collaborations in these areas. Thanks in advance.

Presently, I am trying to get a funded producer for my next feature film, INFATUATION. It's a story about female desire and adolescent obsession.

Great to see INFATUATION here, Saibal! I remember you discussing the project in our interview. One detail caught my attention: September 2008 on the poster. Does that date have a particular significance to the story?

Thanks, Zoltan! Yes, I wrote 'INFATUATION' while studying at my film school. It was my fourth book. I completed writing this screenplay in September 2008. After a few years I tried to self-publish it informally from a local press. A few of my friends read that version. Then I became a bit busy in life doing work and jobs. The manuscript of the book remained dormant in my computer. After almost ten years I published the book formally in the public domain. As INFATUATION deals with a sensitive subject related to adult female desire and pubescent male obsession, initially I was a bit afraid of discussing the subject in public. However, in 2019 I decided to bring the book globally available for all. During this period I rewrote and edited the book a few times. As the first draft of INFATUATION was written in 2008 and completed in the month of September, I maintain this time as the birth period of the story. Thus, the poster carries that time. Precisely, the manuscript was completed on 16 September, 2008. So, the book also carries this date as the date of its first edition.
