What Are You Working On? Share Your Project with the FilmPlatforms Community

That’s a really interesting way of finding music. Do you ever record those melodies quickly on your phone when they come to you? I imagine it must be frustrating when you hear something clearly in your head and then lose parts of it before you get back to your instruments.

Yeah, most of the time. I carry my phone everywhere..even to the toilet . Whenever a melody comes to my head, I just hum it into the voice recorder. Sometimes it’s just a small idea or a motif, and then I try to expand it and improvise around it.
But that’s not the only way I compose. Sometimes I just sit in front of a blank DAW project, staring at it without playing a single note for a long time, trying to capture an idea..maybe an intro, an outro, a verse, or whatever comes to mind.
I don’t really compose in a linear way, like intro first, then verse, then chorus. I usually write whatever part comes to me first and then build the rest of the piece around it.
