What Are You Working On? Share Your Project with the FilmPlatforms Community

What's Your Next Step? Let's Talk About It!

Every film project is at a different stage, and every filmmaker faces different challenges along the way.

I'm curious to hear where everyone stands right now.

Which of these 10 areas are you currently focusing on?

  1. Developing a new concept or story
  2. Writing or rewriting a screenplay
  3. Finding a producer or co-production partner
  4. Securing financing or investors
  5. Building a cast and production team
  6. Preparing a pitch deck or presentation
  7. Moving into pre-production or filming
  8. Completing post-production
  9. Finding a sales agent or distributor
  10. Exploring film festivals and international markets
Pick a number (or several) and tell us a little about your project!

And if you've already overcome one of these challenges, we'd love to hear what worked for you.

FilmPlatforms is about more than showcasing our own projects. It's about exchanging experiences, sharing knowledge, building connections, and helping each other move forward.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone is working on! 🎥

I am stuck at number 4. Presently, I am looking for a funded producer for my next feature film, INFATUATION. The moment I have the fund, I am all set to dive into preproduction.

Am still stuck @ number three....

Writing and rewriting a screenplay

Thank you, Grace!

Since you're also involved in screenplay evaluation and development, it would be great to hear your professional perspective.

In your experience, what are the most common challenges screenwriters face during the rewriting process, and what should they pay particular attention to?

Thank you, Saibal!

We're glad to hear that INFATUATION is still ready to take the next step. It was a pleasure learning more about your project through our previous interview.

Have there been any developments regarding potential producing partners or financing since then?

We hope you'll find the right partner soon so the project can move into pre-production!

We'd also like to encourage everyone in the FilmPlatforms community to keep an eye on our upcoming interviews, as we're planning to feature film production and investment companies in the future as well.

We believe these conversations can provide valuable insights into how the film industry operates, what industry professionals look for in projects, and the challenges filmmakers face along the way.

There's so much to learn from experienced industry professionals, and our goal is to make these interviews a meaningful source of knowledge and professional value for everyone in our community.

Finding the right producer can certainly be a challenge! Could you tell us a little more about your project and what kind of producing partner you're looking for?

You might also find our Industry Spotlight interview series useful. We've already featured several producers and other film industry professionals, with more interviews planned.

Their contact details are included in the interviews, so you can reach out to them directly.

We encourage everyone in the FilmPlatforms community to explore these conversations. They offer valuable industry insights, different professional perspectives, and potential networking opportunities.

One of the biggest challenges in rewriting is fixing individual scenes without addressing the underlying story problems. Writers should prioritize structure, character motivation, pacing, and meaningful conflict before polishing dialogue. It's also important to incorporate feedback without losing the story's original voice. A strong rewrite isn't about changing more, but making the right changes to strengthen the story.

That’s an interesting way for the idea to come together, Robert. Turning the industry’s own clichés and expectations into a story sounds like a clever angle. Have you had a chance to get professional feedback on the screenplay, or are you mainly focused on getting it in front of producers?

You are welcome, Zoltan.
Yes, I am in touch with a few producers. The conversations are going on. But the final deal is yet to happen. Let's hope for the best!

Thanks Zoltan for the mention and for the follow! Appreciate you checking out STEVEN.

For everyone seeing this — STEVEN is John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN meets THE OMEN and CARRIE — On Halloween night, 1975, a silent 6-year-old boy, cursed at birth in a hospital, sets his entire world ablaze. 13x wins, 5.0/5 Stage32, 100p, WGAE I347110 — $375K target / 18-day / 2-location / all practical fire. Full v13 one-pager is on my main post #308. Currently packaging producer-first and looking to connect with producers who sell to Raven Banner / Black Mandala type buyers.

Thanks again Zoltan for the support — great to be on FilmPlatforms.

Thank you Ryan

What Could You Offer Another Filmmaker — and What Would You Need in Return?

We've discovered some interesting projects here, and many of you have shared the partners or opportunities you're looking for.

But I think there's something worth remembering: if we focus only on our own projects and wait for others to help us, we might miss valuable opportunities.

In my experience, the best connections often come from unexpected places. Taking a genuine interest in someone else's project, sharing advice, or offering help without expecting anything in return can open doors we never anticipated.

So here's my question:

What's one thing you could help another filmmaker with, and what's one thing you'd appreciate help with yourself?

It could be advice, creative collaboration, an industry introduction, or simply some honest feedback.

I'd love to hear your thoughts:

@Nivbooks @LucaDorado @verobernard @arminshirvani @krishnaaykkara @ambrosejames3580 @PIPSQUEAK ANIMATION @Mainak Ganguly @Flower_Palsofficial @eileensilva @Anjali Bhushan Mago @Eli Rose

Everyone else is welcome to join in, too. Take a look at each other's projects, join the discussions, and offer support where you can.

A strong professional community isn't just about what we can gain, but also what we can contribute to each other's success.

Well at this stage, Bloom is currently in the "awaiting outcomes" stage so I have begun concentrating on lyrics for my Ember Oracle page on YouTube - having fun writing and producing my completed lyrics into full songs using AI - just a little side hobby. Going through a little bump in life's long road and decided to get through it by putting pen to paper.

Currently, the recent tracks are about turning life around - from breaking to picking yourself up again - learning to love myself the way I should have.

Once I have this rhythm back down, I will turning towards my second animation AI-ien and working on the sample soundtrack for that project.

Sometimes we have to fall to come back stronger.

Sometimes a creative detour leads to something unexpected. Your songwriting might bring a fresh perspective to AI-ien. Hope things move forward with BLOOM, Mark. Keep creating!

Hi Zoltan, Thanks for raising this topic. I can help other filmmakers doing post-production work in India. Also, I can give honest advice to the filmmakers in case they want to shoot in India and parts of Asia.

I think that's exactly what a good film community should be about, Saibal!

One of the reasons I joined FilmPlatforms is that, early in my career, I received a lot of help from experienced industry professionals who generously shared their knowledge. Now I'd like to give something back, especially to younger filmmakers and those just starting out.

Whenever I can, I'm happy to share advice, offer practical insights, or recommend a company or industry contact that might help someone move their project forward.

We can't solve every problem, but sometimes one piece of advice or the right introduction can make all the difference. :)

You are right, John. I am also looking for a funded producer for my next feature film.
